Anthony Smith is fed up with Jake Paul’s experience.
“The Problem Child” just keeps winning. Last weekend in Phoenix, Arizona, Paul picked up his sixth straight boxing win to go undefeated as a professional. In doing so, he beat his third straight former MMA champion, but not just any former champion, one of the all-time greats in Anderson Silva.
Silva, 47, was expected to be Paul’s toughest test yet thanks to his iconic history as one of MMA’s deadliest forwards. In his few boxing matches since leaving MMA in late 2020, Silva has also had better success than most who have gone down this path as their fighting careers dwindled. Unfortunately for Silva, he still couldn’t match his 25-year-old counterpart and suffered a unanimous decision loss.
For former UFC light heavyweight title challenger Anthony Smith, he thinks the time has come for people to stop paying attention to YouTube sensation turned fighter Paul.
“If Jake Paul beats Anderson Silva, we should all f****** boycott the rest of his fights until he f****** in some fights that are on his level, or n whatever level we deem it to be,” Smith said on Believe me before the game (h/t MMA Mania). “You talk all this shit about MMA fighters, you talk shit about UFC, then you pretend you want to raise fighters, and you want everyone to be paid more, but then you destroy everyone every time they struggle.”
One of Paul’s biggest talking points since he’s been entertaining the combat sports world is improving fighter compensation in the UFC. Prior to this past fight with Silva, Paul went so far as to make a bet with the Brazilian betting that if he won they would team up to create a union of fighters. Time will tell exactly where this plan goes, but Paul has supported struggling UFC fighters in the past, like former UFC flyweight Sarah Alpar who started a GoFundMe for her last training camp. .
Be that as it may, Paul was also the one who greatly benefited from his matches and events in all its facets. It just doesn’t fit “Lionheart,” especially since Paul continues to target notable MMA veterans like Nate Diaz.
“Now we put food on your fucking table for you to drag our captions?” said Smith. “Older, younger, smaller, beyond their main legends who have spent their entire careers running their bodies through fucking car crashes, and we hold these guys near and dear to our hearts.
“And then that fuckin’ head drags them out of semi-retirement and knocks them out on pay-per-view and then still fucks us all? Screw you. Like, why do we keep pandering to this piece of shit?

Hey @danawhite this guy is really scared! I fought DJ, TJ and Marlon Moraes who knocked him out in the first round, all in 10 months. When I retired, I never supported the division, you had my pink underpants on that Monday. #the hitman https://t.co/FgbIwumW7E
